Pizza places in the United States run from a counter with two stools and a stack of boxes to a full sit-down pizzeria with a bar, and most neighborhood shops do all three things at once: dine-in, takeout and delivery. Ordering by phone is still common and often faster than an app, and many independents charge less when you call direct because there is no platform fee. Sizes are usually listed in inches (a small around 10", a large 14", an extra-large 16" or more), and a large feeds two to three adults. Slices are sold from a display case at New York-style counters and reheated to order; whole pies take 15-25 minutes at a busy shop. Most spots take cards and mobile pay, though a few older pizzerias remain cash-only, so check the door or the listing before you order.
The business lists hours on 7 days of the week. The most common schedule is 11 am–10 pm. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. The listed phone number is (586) 566-1233. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. More information is available on its website, buddyspizza.com.
On Google it holds a rating of 4.5 out of 5 from 2,873 reviews, which is a strong result for a pizza restaurant in Shelby Township and suggests consistent service.
Shelby Township is in Michigan, in the Midwest, where summers are warm, winters are cold and snowy, and most errands are done by car; businesses keep steady year-round hours with the usual holiday changes. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Shelby Township follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

We had my dads 75th bday party here and could not have been happier with the food and the service!! Andrew, the manager, was very helpful with the entire process. Our waitresses, Laurie and Morgan, were awesome too! Constantly making sure everyone had what they needed. Highly recommend!

I will start by saying that this place used to have consistently good pizza. Not sure what has changed but last night was the 3rd strike. The last 2 times the crust was a bit more “airy” but last night the pizza was barely edible. When the pizza was delivered to our table, it was lukewarm, not the usual piping hot melty first bite that I have to eat with a fork, then the green peppers were giant chunks and they were so big that they were still raw. I ate once piece, so did my fiancé and we trashed the rest. We also made the mistake of flipping the plates that they leave on the table over. While we had 2 clean ones, there were 2 plates that had scrape-able crud on the back. Not to mention there was a row of empty booths across from us that had lettuce all over. This place is going downhill fast as the last 3 visits have been over the last 60 days. The waitress was okay but after we pointed out the plates, the staff seemed defensive. So disappointing, I hope the new corporate leaders walk through that store on a Saturday night. I will say, if they were busy I would give them some grace but they were not even 1/2 full and they did not get busy while we were there either.

Everything about Buddys is always excellent in my experience. Greatest pizza around. Great staff. Great options. Tasty filling food. Pizza tastes just like I remember it as a kid. Love the different pizza toppings that you don't see at most pizza places. The app now gives you great options to get coupons and build points for free food.

I’ll be honest—I’m a thin-crust, New Haven–style guy. Deep dish has never been my thing. Buddy’s completely changed that. The Detroit-style pie is outstanding—thick, airy, and loaded with flavor, with those crispy, caramelized edge pieces stealing the show every time. The atmosphere is lively, casual, and welcoming—exactly what you want for a great pizza spot. Even the individual Greek salad was excellent. I get the hype now. I’ll definitely be back.

Hey, don't trust me...I'm from Ohio, so what do I know? But here I am, staying overnight on a business trip, looking for food. Detroit Style? Absolutely! I ordered a 4-square with Sausage, Shrooms, Jalapenos, and sliced tomatoes. They offer SLICED tomatoes! If you're a texture person, I strongly recommend sliced tomatoes. Should I say sliced tomatoes, again? They do a clever bit when you pick up an order. The gal opened up the box and asked if it looked good. Hell yeah, it does! Very clever. The only thing that was missing was Hawt SHawce, but I had that covered. Five Stars! Great service, delicious squares!
